Vice President Biden made a stunning admission today and we couldn’t agree more: the middle class has been ‘buried’ under the last four years of this president’s policies,” Romney spokeswoman Amanda Henneberg said.
Biden in a speech today noted that he sees the middle class on an upward trajectory, telling the crowd that “the middle class is coming back.”
Discussing the Romney campaign’s tax plan earlier in the day in Charlotte, he asked: “How they can justify raising taxes on the middle class that has been buried the last four years?”
Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan chimed in, telling supporters in Iowa: “We agree. That means we need to stop digging by electing Mitt Romney the next president of the United States.”
The Republican National Committee and the Romney campaign quickly jumped on Biden’s use of “buried,” casting it as an admission from the vice president that his administration has hurt the economy.
Former New Hampshire Gov. John Sununu also piled on, calling Tuesday an “important day in American history” because “Vice President Biden finally got something right.” During the Obama adminstration, he said, household incomes have dropped an average of $4,500 and 23 million Americans are unemployed or underemployed. “That is huge,” Sununu said on a conference call arranged after Biden made his remarks in Charlotte. “That means those families are hurting, and that’s another reason Gov. Romney is running for president.”
I can sum up Biden in two words, and forgive my french, but he’s a dumb ass….
