Charlie Crist has just endorsed President Barack Obama for President. Wasn’t this to be expected? Back in 2009, Obama stated that Crist was his favorite Republican, and we all knew it was a matter of time before Crist showed his true Democrat colors by coming out and giving his ‘full-throated’ support for another Democrat, beefing up the case that he will soon switch his political affiliation to Democrat.
Charlie ‘Chameleon’ Crist has always been all about Charlie, and this move of supporting President Obama was expected, since the word on the street has been that he is positioning himself to run against Republican Governor Rick Scott in 2014. Actually, Crist had already begun testing the Democrat waters months ago when he began calling Democrat state legislators for their possible support in a gubernatorial run.
Remember, Crist endorsed Obama’s failed Stimulus Act in 2009, but then in 2010 stated that he didn’t agree “with the guy on hardly anything,” as Republican Party of Florida Chairman Lenny Curry stated.
“Beyond the appalling timing of this move, Crist now professes his support for Barack Obama despite spending his entire political career bashing the political agenda that Obama advances. Crist in 2010 said ‘I don’t agree with the guy on hardly anything he does.’- RPOF Chairman Lenny Curry
Can you only imagine how he would have voted in the U.S. Senate, were he to have defeated U.S. Senator Marco Rubio in 2010? Republicans certainly would have had a tougher time trying to regain control of the Senate.
What else is tucked away in Charlie Crist’s political closet? A possible role with the DNC? I would personally like to hear that Crist will be campaigning for President Obama in Florida.
