America families continue to struggle and the obama’s keep spending money on themselves.

In a Harris Poll, only three in 10 said they plan to take a vacation lasting longer than a week in the next six months, and that number has been dropping during the recession as people worry about the costs of vacations.

American families for the most part can’t even take one luxury vacation a year but Michelle obama is on her sweet 16th luxury vacation. A month after returning from her 17 day Hawaiian vacation, Michelle Obama is off to Aspen for a ski vacation.

That averages 5 luxury vacations a year, and we are not even including the trips to Camp David where rental alone is 75,000 dollars, nor was the trips like the first family’s New York City date night included in the trips…

Let’s go ahead and get Bush out of the way, he made 30 trips to HIS ranch spanning all or part of 220 days.

obama’s vacations have become more controversial because of the costs with moving the first family to vacation spots, unlike the Bushes to their remote ranch in Crawford, Texas.

– President’s Day 2012, Michelle and the first daughters in Aspen, Colorado to ski.
– Christmas 2011, the first family in Hawaii for an extended vacation. (3.5 million dollars)
– Summer 2011, in Martha’s Vineyard, Mass., for the annual beach break. (75,000 rent only)
– June 2011, the first lady, her mother and daughters traveled to South Africa and Botswana. ($424,142.00)
– President’s Day 2011, the first lady and first daughters travel to Vail to ski.
– Christmas 2010, in Hawaii.($1 million 432 thousand)
– August 2010, the first family traveled to Panama City Beach, Fla., for some sun and fun at the beach.
– August 2010, Obama spent the weekend alone in Chicago for his 49th birthday bash.
– August 2010, the first lady and daughter Sasha traveled to Spain for a mother-daughter vacation.
– August 2010, summer vacation again at Martha’s Vineyard.
–Aug 2010, a 5 day stay in Spain at a 5 star resort in Marbella ($249,000)
– July 2010, the first family went to Mount Desert Island, Maine.
