China Wont Be Helping With North Korea

Dear pundits: Stop begging Beijing to rein in Kim Jong Il. It ain’t gonna happen.
BY AIDAN FOSTER-CARTER
Some years ago, much to my surprise, I persuaded FP’s then editor Moises Naim to drop the expression “Fuggedaboutit!” from these august columns. Chirpy is one thing, vulgar another.
It was kind of Venezuela’s former trade minister to heed the sensitivities of a Brit subscriber. But now I repent me. For nothing less emphatic will do to express my profound dissent from one dominant trope in the endless, circular discourse on North Korea, lately amplified by commentators and policymakers who should know better.
You know the tune, so sing along. It goes like this: Call Beijing! Only the Chinese have influence in and on Pyongyang. (They deny it, but we know they’re kidding.) Call yourself a responsible global leader, Comrade Hu? Then rally round, and do your bit. Kim Jong Il and his nukes are as much a threat to you as to the rest of us. And now he’s shelling South Korean civilians! So join us in condemning him, and for God’s sake rein the rogue in. Or words to that effect.

Obama Has Spent More Days Out Of The US Than Any U.S. Chief In First 2 Years

Discuss this and more, click image to find out about Live Chat!

Never home? President Obama has now spent more days out of the country than any other U.S. chief executive during his first two years in office: Fifteen trips to 26 countries, more than 55 travel days. Some hefty gas money, too: Air Force One costs about $181,757 per hour to operate, according to military sources. But Mr. Obama has not broken the record. Yet. Overall, Bill Clinton remains the most-traveled president with 55 total trips and 233 days abroad. He was out of the country just more than 29 days a year. In second place is George H.W. Bush. During his two terms he took 49 trips and was abroad 215 days, or almost 27 days per year.
“Thanksgiving travelers waiting in long airport lines know how much they’re paying for their trips, and as taxpayers they likewise deserve to know how much it costs to send presidents overseas,” says Demian Brady, a National Taxpayers Union Foundation policy analyst who crunched the numbers. “Only then can they have a rational conversation about whether the pomp of presidential travel is worth the price.”

4 Murdered in SK due to NK – Old START, New Whine?

Do not limit limit America to defend itself Obama!
National Security: President Obama boasts that “those who live right next to Russia … who have the most cause for concern” support his flawed arms treaty. But Europe has been wrong before about nuclear deterrence.
After last weekend’s NATO summit in Lisbon, a PBS reporter asked the president about “Republicans in the Senate who are resisting voting on and ratifying START in the lame-duck session.”
Touting his New START nuclear weapons agreement with Moscow, President Obama said, unprompted, “I have received overwhelming support from our allies” in Europe that New START “is a critical component to U.S. and European security. And they have urged both privately and publicly that this gets done.”
The president pointed to “a wide range of European partners on this issue, including those who live right next to Russia, who used to live behind the Iron Curtain, who have the most cause for concern with respect to Russian intentions and who have uniformly said that they’ll feel safer and more secure if this treaty gets ratified.”
Then came the kicker from President Obama: “Ronald Reagan said, ‘Trust but verify.’ We can’t verify right now.” read more

North Korea Fires On Neighbors to South

SEOUL (AFP) – North Korea fired dozens of artillery shells onto a South Korean island on Tuesday, killing one person, setting homes ablaze and triggering an exchange of fire as the South’s military went on top alert.
In what appeared to be one of the most serious border incidents since the 1950-53 war, South Korean troops fired back with cannon, the government convened in an underground war room and “multiple” air force jets scrambled.
The firing came after North Korea’s disclosure of an apparently operational uranium enrichment programme — a second potential way of building a nuclear bomb — which is causing serious alarm for the United States and its allies.
Some 50 shells landed on the South Korean border island of Yeonpyeong near the tense Yellow Sea border, damaging dozens of houses and sending plumes of thick smoke into the air, YTN television reported.
One South Korean marine — part of a contingent based permanently on the frontline island — was killed and 13 other marines were wounded, the military said. YTN said two civilians were also hurt.

I have said many times any body could do a better job than obama… and Sarah Palin would surly have no problem doing a better job!

In an ABC interview, Palin was asked, if she could defeat obama in 2012 if she sought the white house, her answer of course, “I believe so.”

Scientist: NKorea Built Uranium Enriching Facility

UN Sanctions have failed.  Again!

SEOUL, South Korea – In secret and with remarkable speed, North Korea has built a new, highly sophisticated facility to enrich uranium, according to an American nuclear scientist, raising fears that the North is ramping up its atomic program despite international pressure.

he scientist, Siegfried Hecker, said in a report posted Saturday that he was taken during a recent trip to the North’s main Yongbyon atomic complex to a small industrial-scale uranium enrichment facility. It had 2,000 recently completed centrifuges, he said, and the North told him it was producing low-enriched uranium meant for a new reactor. He described his first glimpse of the new centrifuges as “stunning.”

Hecker, a former director of the U.S. Los Alamos Nuclear Laboratory who is regularly given rare glimpses of the North’s secretive nuclear program, acknowledged that it was not clear what North Korea stood to gain by showing him the formerly secret area. read more

Are Muslims Responible For Body Scans at Airports?

The images of our naked bodies will never be public. That was the promise made but, U.S. Marshals in a Florida Federal courthouse saved 35,000 images on their scanner. These are those images. over 100 images have found their way to the internet…

Why are muslims, being allowed to control us, they are the ones trying to blow up our airlines and our people…yet they get a pass on being scanned and the evasive body search…

John Tyner’s “don’t touch my junk” experience at the hands of TSA goons in San Diego is now facing a 11,000 dollar fine for telling the TSA if they touch him, he is having them arrested…
